Dear Friends,
Happy New Year! And thank you for your friendship, support, your encouragement. 2007 was a year of transition, with our President and CEO, General Bob Gaylord (U.S. Army Ret.) leaving us November 30 to become President and CEO of Industry Data Exchange Association, a firm that is close to his home and family, near Washington. Our warm appreciation and best wishes for the future went with General Gaylord. On January 2, Robert Falcey The Conference Board's Senior Vice President becomes the Acting President and CEO of the Leader to Leader Institute. Bob Falcey was responsible for all conferences in this country and abroad, working with Dick Cavanagh, President of The Conference Board for 11 years. Dick retired from The Conference Board in 2007 and completed his final term on our Leader to Leader Board of Governors, December 31. A search will be conducted for the new Leader to Leader President/CEO, in the coming months, while Bob Falcey works with our Board and staff as we prepare for the future. We hope you will join us during the year as we launch our new edition of The Peter Drucker Five Most Important Questions - our self-assessment tool and later celebrate the Leader of the Future Award, as well as the other exciting developments coming your way. For the Board and staff members, may I extend our warm appreciation for our past endeavors, together, and the expectation that 2008 will bring many opportunities for us to share in serving, in strengthening the social sector and their partners in business and government.
